APRIL 25-29
The 9th Annual Black Hill Film Festival, April 25 through April 29, 2018 features more than 20 films including narrative and documentary films from South Dakota and around the world. Many filmmakers will be on hand after their film’s debut to answer audience questions while movie industry professionals conduct sessions on movie making and acting. Meet them at the parties and receptions held throughout the festival. (In Rapid City, Spearfish, and Hill City)
Mt. Rushmore Rodeo
Truly western. The Mount Rushmore Rodeo at Palmer Gulch. Cowboys and Cowgirls will compete in BULL Riding, Bronc Riding, Team Roping and Barrel Racing. The Clowns and "Mutton Bustin" are sure to please the crowd. Cowboys and Cowgirls will sign autographs followed by a Cowboy dance with Live Music. See ya at the Rodeo!!
Wine Express
There is no better way to enjoy fall in the Black Hills than riding an authentic steam engine while sipping local wines paired with tasty food courses! Live entertainment in station will be provided by local western musician, Brent Morris. The Wine Express is a truly unique experience that is one of our most popular events, so do not wait to purchase your tickets!
Celebrate Oktoberfest on board the 1880 Train! Prior to departure, enjoy live music by Easy Sounds of Rapid City. Please Note: Seating is assigned. In order to sit together, passengers must be under one reservation and one payment. Credit card is charged at time of reservation. Passengers must arrive 30 minutes in advance to check in with ticket agent and pick up tickets. Like any ticketed event, all sales are final and no refunds or cancellations are offered unless ticketed train does not operate. No outside alcohol is allowed. Passengers who appear intoxicated will not be allowed to board the train. Get your tickets early. Call 605-574-2222 for reservations or make them online. You must specify which option you would like at time of reservation. TICKETS $52 Adults $47 Designated Driver Adults Includes German food, seasonal beer and entertainment. Designated Driver price includes a non-alcoholic drink. DEPARTURE Saturday, September 29: 5:00 pm Train departs Hill City station, and the roundtrip ride takes approximately 2 hours. The train boards at 4:45 pm with more beer and food onboard.
A family-friendly event that welcomes Christmas with a parade, Christmas tree lighting, roasted chestnuts, hot cider and cookies, and special guests and events throughout the town’s shops, attractions and train museum. An old-fashioned small-town lighted parade kicks off at 6p sharp. Santa visits with children and hands out apples at the SD State Railroad Museum following the parade. A wonderful tradition to enjoy with your family!
